Supporting Independence: Educational Program for Dementia Caregivers

Apr 2, 2025

The Rochester Recreation Department, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, will host Supporting Independence, a free educational program on Monday, April 7, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Led by Melissa Grenier, the program is designed for caregivers supporting individuals living with dementia. Participants will learn strategies for helping those with dementia engage in daily activities, balancing safety with independence, and managing expectations throughout the caregiving journey.

This 60-minute session will be held in the Upstairs Activity Room/Senior Activity Center at the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center, located at 150 Wakefield Street.

Supporting Independence is free for both residents and non-residents, and no membership is required. Registration is required. Register online at https://rochesterrec.recdesk.com/Community/Program/Detail or visit the Rochester Recreation office.
