On Friday, June 14, the Rochester Elks Lodge #1393 held its annual Flag Day ceremony at their Lodge Hall on Columbus Avenue.
Approximately 40 people attended the event, which featured participation from the Rochester Lodge Officers and members of the Rochester Emblem Club #40.
The ceremony began with Exalted Ruler Mark Guilmett, followed by Past Exalted Ruler Peter Ducharme presenting the history of the flags. The flags were carried by Emblem Club Officers and Members. Don Chesnel, Grand Esteemed Lecturing Knight, presented the “Response” portion of the program, and Rochester Mayor Paul Callaghan served as the guest speaker.
With over 960 members, the Rochester Elks Lodge actively contributes to the community through various programs, including Student Scholarships, Americanism, Veterans Activities, Youth Activities, a Drug Awareness Program, and Community Service.
