Cornerstone VNA, a local nonprofit home health provider, is excited to announce the revitalization of its popular community Educational Series. These educational presentations are free and open to community members and local businesses and cover a variety of health and wellness-related topics. Presentations can also be customized to meet specific needs or areas of interest. The educational presentations have been newly organized into five categories including, Holistic Health from the Inside Out, Family Caregiver Superheroes, Safe and Sound at Home: Rehab Solutions and Health Tips, Mental and Social Wellness, and Shine the Light on Hospice. Presentations typically run sixty minutes and include a question-and-answer portion.
According to Jennifer Ufkin, RN MSN, Vice President of Operations, “At Cornerstone VNA, we’re more than just caregivers. We focus on keeping people healthy, not just treating illnesses. Our unique programs are designed to help individuals live healthier lives. Through our Educational Series, we aim to help community members make informed decisions about their health and well-being, especially in tough situations.”
At a recent educational presentation titled ‘Caring for a Loved One with Memory Loss’, an attendee shared, “The presentation was wonderful, and I got some good pointers to use with my loved one. The handouts were extremely helpful.” The resident service coordinator at a senior housing building remarked, “Excellent presentation today on ‘Living Well with Anxiety’. We had 19 attendees which is highly unusual for us.” Another business shared, “Thank you for the presentation on the ‘Difference Between Palliative Care and Hospice’, we had a great discussion.”
